Mamma Mia! watch party 

The date and time are officially set. Add our reunion party to your calendar for the first week back next term. 

When: Wednesday 14 October, 4pm–6:30pm 

Where: Studio 1, Murray Street Campus

Who: Cast and crew 

Students can bring in food (purchase 3:30pm - 4pm). The reunion will begin promptly at 4pm, so please ensure you arrive on time. We will rewatch the show, present certificates and the official Mamma Mia! book to those who ordered it, and celebrate the incredible success of Mamma Mia! Please RSVP via Seqta message to Ms McGaw.

Music takes centre stage

From Battle of the Bands and vocal showcases to a massed choir of students from across AngliSchools, there has been plenty to celebrate within the Music Department this term!

Battle of the Bands was a wonderful celebration of student musicianship, with House rock bands and choirs competing for valuable House points. Congratulations to Mandela House, who were awarded Best House Band, and Gandhi House, who took out Best House Choir. Nullarbor was named Best Student Band, while Romilly Jones was awarded Best Vocalist. It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved, supporting their Houses and sharing their passion for music on stage.

The inaugural AngliSchools Secondary Choir Day on Monday this week was another highlight. Students from across the AngliSchools network came together for a day of rehearsals and singing, with the massed choir sounding truly wonderful. This was the first event in preparation for the Combined AngliSchools Concert, which will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in April 2027. We look forward to seeing how the students continue to develop their repertoire and prepare for this exciting performance opportunity.

Our Middle Years Vocal Evening also provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the talents of our Year 7–9 vocal students. Students performed with confidence and enthusiasm, showcasing the hard work they have put into developing their vocal skills throughout the year.

We finished the term with Mandela Charity Day, where our talented musicians took to the stage as part of the student talent show. We look forward to celebrating our students, their creativity and their generosity as we round out another busy and successful term of Music at St George’s. A fantastic way to celebrate the end of a busy and exciting term in Music!
