Cowan House
With the end of Term Three came our final House event of the year - Battle of the Bands!
What a wonderful night it was. It was fantastic to see our students take to the stage, represent Cowan House with such pride and create an incredible atmosphere. Considering the short preparation time this term, I continue to be amazed by the calibre of talent within Cowan House and the willingness of our students to step forward and get involved. Cowan finished third in House Band and an outstanding second place in House Choir. Congratulations to every student who rehearsed, performed and supported our teams. You certainly did the House proud!
Battle of the Bands also marked something a little more significant - the final House event for our inaugural Year 12 cohort. To our Year 12s, thank you for embracing Cowan House and helping establish the culture and identity of our House from day one. In particular, a massive thank you to our inaugural House Captain, Zara Jones, and House Prefect, Anabella Prayudi. You have led with energy, tenacity and an enormous amount of House spirit, leaving your mark on Cowan’s first chapter.
Our inaugural year may be coming to a close, but the Cowan legacy is only just beginning. Our Year 12s will always be part of the group that helped lay the foundations for everything that comes next and I wish them all the best over the next period with their examinations and Year 12 farewell celebrations.

Gandhi House
A huge thank you to everyone in Gandhi House for making Term Three such a memorable one. The enthusiasm, energy and House spirit that our students bring to each event has been fantastic to see, and it has been wonderful to watch Gandhi come together and support one another throughout the term.
This term, Gandhi House has continued to shine across a range of events, from our outstanding first-place finish at the Interhouse Athletics Carnival to our fantastic performances at the Interhouse Battle of the Bands Competition. Our Gandhi Choir took out first place, while our band also delivered a strong performance. A huge thank you to all of our performers who dedicated many early mornings to rehearsals throughout the term. Special thanks to our Year 12 leaders who led these performances: Jade Fletcher and Sophie Gardner for Choir, and Harvey Miller for Band. Your leadership and commitment were greatly appreciated and valued.
Looking ahead, we have our final opportunities to earn valuable points towards the House Cup. House Week in Week 4 will bring a range of lunchtime competitions and PAWS activities, so be sure to keep an eye on the notices and get involved wherever you can! Commendations and House Tokens for good behaviour or great results in class also help, so I am asking all members of Gandhi House to bring their very best to Term Four.
I wish all Gandhi students and families a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break. Thank you to every student who has contributed their time, energy and enthusiasm to Gandhi House this term. Your involvement is what makes our House so special.

Lincoln House
It has been great to see all the students enjoying Mandela Charity Day today as a fantastic end to the term. We love a big occasion – and already Lincoln leaders have gathered our Sync Swim team for the 2027 routine, meeting to organise our music and choreography for next year. The planning and preparation begins early in Lincoln House!
As always, I have messaged the House with an open invitation to join the team in either helping with choreography or teaching the routine when we start practice next term. The number of students volunteering has been immense, and I am so happy to see our students full of House spirit and ready to contribute despite the usual end of term fatigue.
For our Weekly Pulse and House Quiz competitions, I am happy to announce that L5 has once again taken the House Quiz. L3 and L6 have ended with a draw for PULSE completion, and it has been pleasing to see the number of students completing their check-ins on time each week steadily increasing throughout the term.
As always, I wish all our Lincoln students a happy and safe holidays and I look forward to seeing everyone rested and ready for Term Four.

Mandela House
Today was one of the biggest on the Mandela school calendar – our charity day, which featured a talent show, silent disco, photo booth and the sizzling of over 400 sausages!
Our traditional end-of-term annual event was held at the Murray Street Campus, with all funds raised from our barbecue and PCG treat stalls supporting Team St George’s group of staff and students who are participating in the Central Park Plunge for Anglicare WA on 13 November.
Mandela Charity Day capped off a term in which our students embraced every opportunity to represent the House – be it the Athletics Carnival, House Week, Battle of the Bands and House Choir. I am extremely proud of the enthusiasm, effort and House spirit shown by Mandela students at each event. Mandela achieved fantastic results at Battle of the Bands and House Choir, finishing third in the House Choir before taking out first place in Battle of the Bands. Congratulations to every student who performed on the night. Your hard work, courage and commitment were clear to everyone watching, and you represented Mandela with pride. Well done!
As we look ahead to Term Four, we will soon farewell our Year 12 students. I would like to thank all our Mandela Year 12s for their contribution throughout the year. Whether performing, competing, leading or supporting others, you have each played an important role in our House and helped us continue “Growing Together.”
A special thank you must also go to our House Captain Benji Yan and House Prefect Alyssa Peake for their outstanding leadership, enthusiasm and support throughout the year. It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside you both.
Thank you to all Mandela students and staff for another wonderful term. I hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing and well-deserved holiday break.
