Assistant Principal's Report

Julia Bay

What a fantastic start to Term 2 it has been! As I am writing this, it seems that winter is finally ready to begin. We have been very fortunate with our beautiful sunny autumn days over the start of the term allowing us to enjoy many great events.

On Tuesday 13th May we had our House Cross Country/School Fun Run. Congratulations to Mr Spinks for organising this wonderful competition and thank you to all of our teachers for supporting it. It was great to see so many parents and families cheering on the children as they ran round the school. The students had an enjoyable day competing for their houses, and on Friday 23rd May many students competed for our school at the District Cross Country Carnival at Ruffey Lake Park.

Thank you to our Parents and Friends Group who made the the House Cross Country/School Fun Run fundraiser a success. At assembly on Friday we announced the top 3 students and classes. Because the target of $5000 was reached, Mr Spinks was slimed by students! See photos below. Congratulations DPS on reaching this fundraiser mark!

Our Parents and Friends Group do a wonderful job raising money for the school through different activities such as the Mothers' and Father's Day stalls, Subway lunches and much more. Last year through the funds raised, we were able to purchase new sports uniforms for our Level 5/6 interschool sports teams. Please see below. Thank you PFG for all the work you do.

Thank you everyone for a great start to Term 2.
