SENIOR SCHOOL

SENIOR SCHOOL

As usual, it has been a very busy, but very rewarding year in Senior School. Our first year of running the VCE-VM, or Vocational Major program has presented many challenges and many rewards as our Year 11 and 12 students have shared more experiences here at school.

Our Year 11 and 12 School Captains, Amber Sullivan, Rhys Pether, Hal Joyce and April Reeves have led the school with authenticity and polish this year. Thanks to them for their contributions to school assemblies, community events, including ANZAC day memorials, and their organisation of the valedictory.

Our Year 12s celebrated the end of their schooling in many ways; having dress up days, games against teachers, finals sports days and excursions and of course their valedictory. Thanks to each of you for the mark you have made on the staff, students and school community. We wish you all the very best for your future.

Our careers program has been well utilised by Senior School students with a range of events offered including the Dairy Learn program and Careers Expos and lunches. It is fantastic to see and hear the broad range of pathways students are considering post school.

Our Year 10s have been superstars on their two rounds of work experience, with many, many positive reports coming in from the employers who have been impressed with our students’ resilience and maturity. The Year 10s also ran our first peer support program for a number of years. Every few weeks our peer support leaders worked with the Year 7s covering a range of topics to assist them to settle into Secondary School. The Year 7s loved spending time with their senior role models – well done to all students involved.

We have also had a range of extra-curricular opportunities for students to be part of; sports days, ski camp, RYDA and other excursions have all been embraced and well participated in. Congratulations to everyone in Senior School for their commitment to their studies and their willingness to embrace new opportunities to continue to aspire to be their best!
