YEAR 9

YEAR 9 2023

Year 9 have settled into the new Middle School Hub to complete their final year of middle schooling. The students have had multiple opportunities to develop their study skills and career pathways in preparation for senior school through the ACE program.

We had two students that attended the Gnurad Campus of the Leadership school, these students being Natalie Churchill and Naomi Pether.   Both these girls developed their leadership skills while working in the local communities.  We look forward to seeing these girls continue to  flourish in senior school.

Yet again we were successful in our application for the Victorian Government initiative, Positive start program.  Year 9 students had the opportunity to go to the snow at Mount Buller.  For many students this was the first opportunity for them to attend the snow.  Even with the extremely early morning starts the students enjoyed this opportunity to participate in skiing or snowboarding even with the slight lack of snow.

2023 also saw the continuation of the 9 Activate program. Now in its second year, 9A has grown and strengthened as a new group of students have taken on the challenges and opportunities of contract-based learning. These students showed tremendous growth in their learning and self-regulation this year, and they should be proud of their achievements. 9A students were also such good role models this year that they inspired the creation of an 8A class. We can’t wait to see what great strides our 9A graduates will continue to make next year.

Congratulations to the class of 2023, we look forward to watching you grow even further in the senior school and beyond.
