YEAR 8

YEAR 8 2023

Year 8 has been an extraordinary chapter filled with adventures, academic strides, and remarkable achievements. It has been a year marked by unforgettable experiences and significant accomplishments.

One of the highlights of the year was the unforgettable Waratah Bay Beach Camp. Students of Year 8 embarked on a memorable journey, fostering teamwork, resilience, and a deeper connection with each other. The camp served as a platform for building lifelong friendships and embracing the spirit of teamwork.

2023 also saw the creation and subsequent success of the 8A class. Several courageous students entered this new experience and showed unparalleled enthusiasm, unity, and dedication, with a few students demonstrating excellent personal growth.

As our Year 8 cohort continued to grow and mature this year, they consistently looked to improve their GPA from term to term, and there were many examples of dramatic improvements  over the course of the year. It was wonderful to see so many of our year 8 students valuing, not only their education, but their involvement in and ownership of their own learning and school community.

As Year 8 ends, we celebrate the resilience, achievements, and vibrant spirit that have defined this remarkable year. The memories created and the lessons learned will undoubtedly shape the future endeavours of our exceptional Year 8 cohort.

Finally, I would like to extend a big thank you to the rest of the Year 8 mentors for all their fantastic work supporting our students as both maths teachers and as mentors this year - Ms Schwartz, Mr Coglin and Mr Mahoney.
