MEDICINES AT SCHOOL

All medication is secured in the General Office and distributed to the students under staff supervision. If your child is to have medication at school, please fill out the school’s ‘Medication Authority Form’ which is available at the front office. You must ensure there is an ongoing supply and that medication is clearly labelled in the original box with name, dosage and directions. The class teacher and the office staff must be notified in writing when there is a change in medications or dosage. No medication will be accepted at school without all the information requested.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MEDICATION TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR CHILD IN THEIR SCHOOL BAG.

MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER

Jackson School employs a mental health practitioner. This is a current government initiative with the aim of supporting youth mental health in secondary schools. This is implemented in individual and small group sessions and includes school wide mental health programs.

MOBILE TELEPHONES/SMART WATCHES

Students carrying mobile telephones or wearing smart watches are required to hand in their phones/watchds during the school day. These will be locked in a safe. This is mandated by the Department of Education.
