Term 1 Reflection

Learning Highlight Wow! What a spectacular start to the learning journey for our 2022 Preps! They have overcome many challenges in the past two years and have come to us with their hearts and minds well and truly open to learning and all the other amazing things that come with being at school! We are not able to put into words just how proud of these resilient students and their families we really are! We are so happy to have you here.

What Rob missed... This term Rob took time off to enjoy his new baby. The students in Year 6 wrote recounts to share with Rob all the things he had missed in his time away., The Flood! , My Day at Gumboots Kinder , Earth Ed. Excursion

Dedication, concentration and exhilaration These are the three words that come to mind to describe the past few weeks with the STEM tutor groups. The COLA has been alive with selected students across Years 1 to 6 embarking on a range of STEM challenges to enhance their learning.

Learning this Term

Representing The Lakes! Cross Country, This term for interschool sport, students represented The Lakes in cricket, handball and soccer. Everyone did a fantastic job representing the school, playing against other schools including Epping Views, Marymede, Harvest Home and Edgars Creek. Well done to the Handball girls who won their event and the handball boys for coming runners up!

Music & Choir Primary Performing Arts Term 1:, 2022 Choir!

Choice-Based Art at The Lakes This year in Visual Arts, students are learning about the art world through their own learning journey as an artist. The art room is the student’s art studio where materials are gradually made available for students to choose as they wish to create their own artwork. Students will be creating art based on their interests and their ideas as that is what real-life artists do.

Mosaic Mural When students returned from Remote Learning an opportunity was provided for Art Therapy, to rebuild connections and express feelings through creative outlets.
