School Captains Report

Hi!

My name is Angela and I am one of your senior school captains for 2022.

This term, the school captains began the year by setting goals and reflecting on what we want to achieve throughout the year, both personally and collectively. This has helped set us on the right path in terms of projects and activities we would like to take on during the year.

Term one has been filled with engaging discussions with our peers and teachers, regarding a range of topics that impact students’ classrooms and outdoor spaces. Together with the rest of the leadership team, we’ve been able to provide valuable feedback on decisions regarding:

  • The creation of excitement for our Athletics Carnival
  • The implementation of bells in between classes
  • The location and model of lockers
  • The positioning on new tables and shade sales in our yard

We are thrilled to be able to represent our peers during these consultation periods and look forward to discussing and putting plans in place for bigger ideas, like school pride, in the future.

I also had the pleasure of assisting our first school tour. We are excited to have the opportunity to help staff represent the learning and enthusiasm around our school, be there to provide a student perspective on any questions and to talk to students about all the leadership opportunities at The Lakes.

As the term winds up, we are also looking forward to presenting our first assembly in the near future.
