Year 12 Biology

It has been a challenging Term 1 in Year 12 Biology. As a class we have risen to this challenge and are enjoying the fast pace tempo. We have learnt about topics including DNA, RNA, proteins, transcription, translation, DNA manipulation, CRISPR-Cas9, recombinant plasmids, PCR, gel electrophoresis, GMO’s and bioethics. We have been using a variety of study strategies to remember and understand the numerous scientific knowledge and terms in Biology, including completion of past exam questions, following the study design, summarising key knowledge, using ATAR Notes and the Jacaranda online platform.

On the right, is an image of the yeast cellular respiration investigation we have been undertaking to identify the optimal temperature and glucose concentration for cellular respiration to occur.
