Representing The Lakes!

Cross Country

On Friday, March 11th, students from Years 3-6 participated in our in house cross country competition. Students competed in their age groups and completed either 2km or 3km around the school. Well done to all students who participated in the event!

This term for interschool sport, students represented The Lakes in cricket, handball and soccer.  Everyone did a fantastic job representing the school, playing against other schools including Epping Views, Marymede, Harvest Home and Edgars Creek. Well done to the Handball girls who won their event and the handball boys for coming runners up!

Interschool Sport Gala Day by Eva

On Friday we had a Gala Day for interschool sport. We had to play 5 games vs. some good schools.

We had to get to school before 8.30am because we had to walk there and the girls handball first game was at 9am, therefore it was a 25minute walk. After a long time we were at Marymede College. We had to rush because our game was about to start!

We found out who we were playing and where we had to go. Then we started. At times we would miss goals but our first game was a really easy team so we got most in. Final score was 6-1. Smashed em! The boys cheered for us and then it was their turn to play.

The boys also played really well. They won but I don’t remember the score. After we had eaten recess it was time for my team (the girls team) to play again. We won again. After that the boys had another game. They won too. We all played really well.

After lunch it was the final game, every score meant everything. We won!!! The whole team played really well. Sadly the boys lost a game so they came second. After all the games had finished we went to where the rest of our school were and walked back to school.
