Being Role Models

In Year 4, we have had a fantastic start to the year and it has been so nice being back at school learning and loving life with our friends!

We have been working on being the best Role Models we can be with our Prep buddies. Our job is to help them and show them The Lakes school values. I have really enjoyed getting to know my buddy and helping them arounds the school and with their learning.

Multicultural Day to me is all of the countries living in peaceful harmony. It is celebrating the cultures from all over the world. To celebrate Multicultural Day today we drew ourselves and all the things that represent our countries. I drew my culture which is South Sudan. There is a wide range of culture from every land but we should respect all of them, none of the are better than the other I believe we are all equal.

Today at school we played games based around our cultures. We played a game our teacher Sue had played when she was in the Netherlands. It was called hacky sack and it is played all around the world. This goes to show how each culture can respect each others . We sang along to ‘We are Australian’ and we talked about the meaning of the words. We then sang along to some Indigenous Australian songs called Inanay and Taba Naba. - Deng
