Learning Highlight

Wow! What a spectacular start to the learning journey for our 2022 Preps!  They have overcome many challenges in the past two years and have come to us with their hearts and minds well and truly open to learning and all the other amazing things that come with being at school! We are not able to put into words just how proud of these resilient students and their families we really are! We are so happy to have you here.

Among the many highlights of Term 1 has been the introduction of our Classroom Library. Here students are able to explore what books spark excitement and which ones are not for them.  In our first session we shared with our partner what kinds of books we like to read and why.  After this we discussed what a ‘good fit book’ was.  We decided we needed to like what the book is about and to be able to read the words or pictures. 

Students then delighted in browsing their very own classroom library to select a book that was just for them! Their special windows to the world will be stored in their very own book boxes within their classroom to be accessed on a regular basis through the day. They can’t wait to explore the world of stories as often as they can!
