We have had such a wonderful end to Term 2 at Epping Boys High School with our annual McGrath Foundation Teachers VS Students cricket match, BBQ and a wear a bit of pink mufti day. Our Year 12 Prefect group did a fantastic job in organising this important fundraising event.

Likewise, I was so proud of our school in Week 9, when we held our Multicultural Day and Business Day. It was just wonderful to see our staff working so closely with our students to celebrate culture, community and commerce. The genuine sense of connection was evident in the quality of the cultural experiences, the food stalls, the presentations and the entrepreneurial stalls.

This term our students have spent many long hours preparing for summative assessment tasks with Years 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 all receiving a formal written school report (Year 10 Reports go out early next term). Careful reading of these school reports is important because they provide valuable insights into student progress, areas for improvement, and achievements. Being aware of areas of strength and, importantly, mapping out strategies where improvement is required, is crucial for success. I also recommend noting attendance data that is included in reports as even a small number of absences can impact on student understanding of their subjects; it is so easy to get behind.

Thank you also to our families who have attended the Parent Teacher Evenings. As teachers, we greatly value the opportunity to talk through the progress of your son with you.

I hope that all our Epping Boys High School families have a wonderful holiday break. We have encouraged our students to get off the screens and get outside and enjoy this glorious weather.

We look forward to our students returning for Term 3 on Tuesday 21st July.
