Inclusive Education

It has been an action-packed and rewarding term for our students, who have embraced a variety of opportunities to learn, complete and contribute to their community. Through excursions, sporting events, and wellbeing initiatives, students have demonstrated enthusiasm, resilience, and a willingness to challenge themselves.

One of the highlights of the term was our excursion to Bunnings. Students enjoyed exploring the store and learning about the many jobs and responsibilities involved in a large retail business. Students were provided a task to navigate their way around the store and record different products that could be purchased for a range of projects. The excursion provided a practical connection to future employment pathways while helping students develop confidence and independence within the community.

Students enthusiastically participated in the school Athletics Carnival. Throughout the day, students gave their best effort in a range of track and field events while demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and encouraging their peers. It was wonderful to see students stepping outside their comfort zones, celebrating personal achievements, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

This term also marked an exciting milestone as students represented the school in our first-ever Boccia Tournament. Boccia is a highly inclusive sport that requires concentration, strategy, and teamwork. Students displayed outstanding determination and skill while competing against other schools. They represented the school with pride and gained valuable experience in a competitive sporting environment.

Students took part in the Push-Up Challenge, joining thousands of Australians in raising awareness about mental health. Through completing daily push-up targets and engaging in discussions about wellbeing, students learned about the importance of physical activity, resilience, and supporting positive mental health. The challenge encouraged students to look after their own wellbeing while helping to promote an important message within the wider community.
