Which year did you graduate from Epping Boys?

Class of 2017.

Most memorable moment from Epping Boys?

My fondest memory would be winning the 3rd grade soccer premiership with Epping Boys. A truly amazing underdog team coached by Ms Tang (now known as Mrs Vrataric) and alongside others whom I'm still close friends with today!

Your favourite subject in school, and why?

Undoubtedly engineering studies taught by Mr Chew. I always had an interest in civil engineering from a young age but Mr Chew was able to really spark that passion for engineering in me by teaching problem solving skills and showing how amazing engineering projects can be world wide.

What did you do straight after school?

After graduating I went straight into studying civil engineering at the University of New South Wales where I was able to graduate with first class honours.

What career have you pursued?

Since university I have built a career in the construction industry as a civil engineer on state infrastructure projects. Working for Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) I was part of the site team managing the Heathcote Road Upgrade in South Sydney where we duplicated the roadway, constructing 5 bridges! After this project I moved to WeBuild Group to help build the new Western Sydney Airport Metro line which is by far the largest scale project I've worked on including the construction of 2 super-T girder bridges. Currently I am now working with Ertech to complete another road upgrade in South Sydney where I will continue to grow my skills.

Advice to current students at Epping Boys?

My advice to students would be to actively seek out what makes you happy in life and ultimately what you have passion for. You don't always find it straight away but once you do, pursue it with all of your effort.
