THE ARTS

Studio Art-Live Art Happening

On Thursday 31 May, Anthony Samargis of Year 12 created an art installation on plastic wrap down the back of Kew High School adjacent to Burke Road.

The idea behind the work was to create an installation that was not permanent, but was able to showcase colour and create interest for the viewer. Also, the idea of the element of surprise to see a pop up art work that was created with minimal materials and time. Spray paint was the medium on plastic wrap.

There were a number of students involved - the photographer, people holding the plastic in place, and Anthony who actually did the work. A great effect overall.

ACCA Excursion

The year 11 and 12 Art class went to the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art to see the annual show 2015 NEW.  This is a contemporary art exhibition representing new artists that make specific work for the exhibition. Students were introduced to the exhibition by the education officer who discussed the artworks with them. All students enjoyed the event immensely.
