A Mid-year note from Musicland
This semester has been a very busy and productive one for all who dwell in Musicland.
We were involved in many performances, in and out of school, and had a most successful Music camp in May.
The Music camp had a number of visiting tutors including two of our ex-students: Nick Kyritsis and Joshua Manusama. It was great having them back here and seeing the progress they had made in their knowledge and practice of music.
We were also involved in many excursions and performances in Musicland. The music performances so far have included:
· Chaplaincy dinner
· Eastern Metropolitan Regional Concert at Hamer Hall: Advanced guitar ensemble
· Anzac Day ceremony
· Royal Melbourne Hospital Well-Being Festival: Chinese Ensemble, String Orchestra and Advanced Guitars
· A number of year level and whole school assemblies.
· Lunchtime concerts.
· The Midyear, half-time, concert
· Rock in Your Lunchbox
· Kew's got Talent
· Battle of the Bands
· Yarra Trams 100 years celebrations: Stage Band
· Grade 6 parent information night: Senior Concert Band and the String Orchestra.

Don’t Fret at Soundtrack Youth Concert
Don’t Fret performed at Hamer Hall as part of the North Eastern Victoria Region (NEVR) annual youth concert on 27 May.
The theme for the night was ‘Soundtrack’, which led the group to successfully audition with their medley of the ‘Mario Party’ video game music.
The group practised and rehearsed tirelessly in preparation for the event. Their efforts enabled them to give a fantastic performance in front of a very large audience.
The group was thrilled to perform at one of the most prestigious venues in the state. It was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Well done team!
