Gandhi House

Term One has truly showcased our House’s remarkable team spirit, highlighted by impressive performances in Sync Swim, House Week, and the Interhouse Swimming Carnival. During our recent House Assembly, we took the time to celebrate the term’s achievements and announce our Gandhites of the Month.  Congratulations to Sophie Chapman (Year 9) and Anouk Potter (Year 11) for their outstanding contributions to Gandhi House throughout March!

The term concluded beautifully with Gandhi Charity Day, a fitting end to an incredible period. A special thanks to the amazing Student Leaders and Year 12s for their organisation and leadership throughout the day. A massive thank you to all the staff who supported the event, helped out on the barbecue, participated or supervised and made it a tremendous success. Incredibly, we raised more than $2,000 for the Thread Together program, a fantastic initiative from Anglicare that donates unsold clothing from fashion retailers to those in need. Well done and thank you to everyone that got involved – the Charity Days are always such a fitting end to the term.

I wish all families a relaxing and safe holiday break and I look forward to seeing everyone back and ready for Term Two. We are straight into our Interhouse Cross Country Carnival and the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival, so it is sure to be an exciting start to Term Two.

Lincoln House

As we approach the Easter holidays and I reflect on the wonderful Term One we have had, I am once again amazed by the spirit and positive enthusiasm of Lincoln House students. From swimming practice in the mornings, House Week and Dance practice at lunch, Theatre Challenge after school and even the Reader’s Royale at home in their own time, Lincoln students have displayed a continued commitment and support for the House.

This week in Lincoln House, we celebrated the end of term together with a Movie Pyjama Party. Students were invited to change into comfy PJs, grab some popcorn and enjoy a movie together as we celebrate a term of hard work together as a House.

Lastly, I would like to encourage all students to ensure that they are popping their House tokens into the jars at Reception. At the moment, the tallies are very close, so every token matters! If you have any tokens at home please do bring them in so they can be counted towards the House Cup.

I wish all of our Lincoln families a happy and safe holiday break and I look forward to seeing everyone back with their running shoes on for the Interhouse Cross-Country early next term!

Mandela House

What a term! I would like to thank our incredible Mandela staff, students and parents for the energy, support and positivity you have brought to everything we have accomplished this term. A fantastic start to 2025 for our House.

During our House PAWs sessions this week, students in Years 7–9 and 10–12 enjoyed some time out at the Supreme Court Gardens. Itwas wonderful to see so many students engaging with each other. Some kicked a soccer ball around, others relaxed, walked and chatted with their peers.

I also want to sincerely thank every student who represented Mandela House in various events this term. Your passion and House pride have shone through in every competition and performance. From the Interhouse Swimming Carnival and Sync Swim to our enthusiastic House Week participants and the dedicated team preparing for the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival (IHPAF)—you have made us proud.

Looking ahead, Term Two starts fast! In Week 2 we will see both the Interhouse Cross Country and the much-anticipated IPAF - I know our students will once again rise to the occasion with the same spirit and determination.

Have a fantastic Easter and a restful holiday. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you again in Term Two!
