Reports, Parent-Teacher Interviews and Holiday Programs
Thank you to our entire school community for making my first term such an enjoyable and memorable one. While I am certainly looking forward to a well-earned break and some quality time with my own family, I am also genuinely excited about the remainder of the year and all the changes, opportunities and challenges it will bring to myself and my new St George’s Family.
Reports are now accessible via SEQTA Engage and SEQTA Learn. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insights into your child’s progress this term, with feedback aligned to our five Learner Attributes:
These attributes aim to provide a holistic picture of your child’s learning behaviours and growth. We encourage families to review this feedback together and discuss strategies for continued success and development as students return to Term Two and then Semester One reporting.
Keep an eye on your inbox early in Term Two for booking details regarding our Parent-Teacher Interviews for Years 8–11. We are pleased to offer two options to our families for connecting with our teaching staff:
📍 On Campus: Tuesday, 20 May (4:00pm – 8:00pm)💻 Online via Microsoft Teams: Thursday, 29 May (4:00pm – 8:00pm)
We encourage all families to make appointment as these interviews provide a valuable opportunity to check in on progress and discuss the next steps and academic goals in your child’s learning journey.
With Semester One Examinations approaching in Term Two (Weeks 5–6 for Years 11 and 12, and Week 7 for Year 10), the April holidays present a great chance to engage in structured study. We recommend the Master Mind Australia programs. Students have received flyers from Mrs Tagore, but full details and registration are available via the Master Mind Australia website. Seminars are running at the following times and locations:
As important as study is, it is equally vital for students to rest, recharge and refocus over the holidays. That balance can be tricky, especially for senior students juggling assessments, exam prep, sporting commitments and family time.
Former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower—known for his exceptional time management—once said, “The most urgent decisions are rarely the most important ones.” He famously used a simple yet powerful decision-making tool now called the Eisenhower Matrix to prioritise his tasks.
Encourage your child to use this model to manage their time during the holidays. With a little planning, they can make space for both productivity and rest—and return to school energised and ready to succeed in Term Two.
Wishing you a safe and happy Easter
To all our students, families and staff—thank you for a fantastic start to the year. I hope the break offers you the chance to rest, reconnect and enjoy the things that bring you joy.
