Last weekend’s Year 12 Drama Camp was an inspiring, hilarious and heartwarming success. Held at the beautiful Point Walter Recreation and Conference Centre, students from six schools gathered for a weekend of performance, creativity, and connection.
Kicking things off on Friday night, we were treated to an outstanding performance by the Western Australian Youth Theatre Company, featuring a special appearance by our very own alumni, Clare Dyball, who returned to the stage as part of the youth ensemble. It was a proud and emotional moment to see one of our past students thriving in the professional arts scene.
Saturday night was The Big Hoo Haa and the Improvisation Extraordinaires had us in stitches. Highlights included absurd and imaginative scenes from An Italian Horror Story, A Mosman Park Marbliest, and A Cursed Island in Hawaii—each one more bizarre and brilliant than the last.
Throughout the weekend students took part in dynamic and challenging workshops led by industry professionals, including our ever-inspiring Sam and Nichola from the Actors Workshop. These sessions pushed our students creatively and gave them invaluable insight into the craft and industry of performance.
One of the most rewarding parts of the camp was the friendships formed across the five other schools involved. The shared love of theatre quickly broke the ice, and by Sunday, it was hard to believe many had only just met.
A big thank to Mr Tim Hayward, our incredible Head of Year 11/12, who swapped his Maths Teacher persona for Drama Camp Champion — your support, enthusiasm and willingness to embrace the chaos made all the difference. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Here's to lifelong memories, new friendships, and the magic of theatre. Dama Camp 2025 was a showstopper.

Congratulations to our Year 11 ATAR/APEX Drama students on their first performance of scripted scenes from August: Osage County.
With powerful character work and strong ensemble energy, each group brought the drama to life with confidence and emotion.
Students also submitted their Designer Justifications, showcasing thoughtful creative choices in costume, set, and staging. A fantastic start to their performance journey, well done!
