Alyssa Rullo, Year 8 - Basketballer

The Perth Redbacks have proudly announced that St George’s student Alyssa Rullo has been selected for the Basketball WA Future Development Program.

 

The most talented rising stars aged under 14 are chosen are for the program which aims to educate and develop athletes’ understanding of concepts needed to be successful in BWA High Performance Programs.

Jarod Phillips, Year 9 - Army Cadet

Jarod has been a member of Army Cadet Unit 501 Como since he was 13 and recently participated in the annual City of Cockburn ANZAC Youth Parade. Last weekend he also attended a cadet camp in Northam which involved crawling through culverts under the highway and navigational exercises. Jarod is now preparing for a dawn service and march on ANZAC Day. He is pictured front row, far right in the main photograph.

Fieke Potter, Year 8 - Athletics

On Wednesday, Fieke took part in the Nationals Athletics Junior Championship which is taking place in Perth as we speak. She has the fire in her belly.

Fieke started with the 800m and made the final by running a PB of 2:14.57. The day after she ran the final and came 5th in an awesome race. She finished the Nationals with a silver medal in the 1500m. The 1500m was a very close and exciting race, Fieke broke the state record by 3sec to come second with a time of 4:31.89

Zara Jones, Jade Fletcher, and Sophie Gardner, Year 11

Zara, Jade and Sophie attended Bond University's Future Forum dinner held at the prestigious Heath Ledger Auditorium.

 

 

 The evening featured a three-course meal served on stage, where the girls were paired with accomplished Bond alumni, including Adrian Radley, a professional swimmer and consultant; Eliza Reilly, an award-winning journalist and sports writer; and Andrew Kirkwood, CEO. Over dinner, the students had the unique opportunity to engage in insightful conversations with the guest speakers, gaining valuable perspectives and advice. They also connected with fellow Perth students from various schools, making the evening both inspiring and enriching.
