It has been a busy finale to Term 1 – and not just because the shelves have been seeing some serious action. With only four weeks left of the Interhouse Readers’ Royale after the holidays, the competition is heating up. Currently, Gandhi is in the lead with an impressive 7618 points, followed by Lincoln on 6989. Mandela is closing in fast at 6176 despite their slow start. With the break ahead, it is the perfect time to read a book and help tip the scales for your House.
To finish the term on an exciting note, we held our first Easter Egg Hunt this week. We had five groups of students work in their teams to solve riddles to hunt down eggs hidden around the Library. A huge thank you to Mrs Tamsin Sykiotis for crafting a clever collection of riddles that had students thinking outside the box, and to Ms Emily Belyea for making sure the Library felt as joyful and bright as the season. From decorations to hidden clues, her role in creating the lovely atmosphere was brimming with Easter spirit.
A special mention must go to our Library Prefect Fred Keane, who has been a consistent presence in the Library this term despite his busy Year 12 schedule. We’re so grateful for the time, energy, and cheer brought into our space – especially as we head into a well-earned break.
Well done to all the students who took part in our Easter Hunt – we hope the chocolate made the riddles worth it! Don’t forget to borrow a book (or two) before heading off for the holidays. Happy reading, and may the best House win!
