Dear Parents and Guardians

As Term 3 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to extend my thanks to all of our boarding parents for their unwavering support throughout the term. A big thank you also to all the boys who have made the term such a successful one.

The lead-up to the end of term is always busy and this year was no different. A small group of our boys joined the ACC Athletics squad for this year’s carnival recently and I’m proud to report that all the boys delivered great performances on the day to assist the team’s excellent placing.

Additionally, another small group ventured out on the Bibbulmun Track, engaging in maintenance work around the Ball Creek Hut. The hours spent on this project contributed to their Christian Service Learning, Duke of Edinburgh and Compass awards. Not only did the boys engage in meaningful service but they also thoroughly enjoyed the experience soaking up the fresh air and sunshine.

As we approach the end of Term 3, there’s a bittersweet atmosphere within our Boarding community as we prepare to bid farewell to our Year 12 students. I had the pleasure of joining the boys for dinner at the Kalamunda Hotel last week, accompanied by Father Michael Twigg, the College Rector and Mrs Sabrina Hughes, our College Principal. It was wonderful to hear the boys share their excitement about their futures, upcoming holidays and the valedictory celebrations that await them.

Looking ahead to next term, we welcome three new boarders and their families into the Cebula community and we will also begin preparations for the new boarder orientation for our 2027 intake of boys.

I wish all the Year 12 boarders sitting for their trial WACE exams over the holidays well and know that their hard work leading up to these assessments will pay off.

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to our dedicated staff for their continued efforts in caring for our boys. A special thank you goes to Supervisors Sean and Kurt and House Mothers Fiona, Leigh and Teresa, who ensured the Boarding House ran smoothly during my recent long service leave. I also appreciate the support of Mrs Sabrina Hughes and Father Michael Twigg for their commitment to our Boarding community.

Wishing you all a restful holiday break. We look forward to welcoming the boys back for Term 4 when boarding reopens on Sunday, 11 October at 3:00pm.
