Year Masses

Recently, our Year 7 and Year 10 students gathered as year groups to celebrate Mass. These celebrations are an important part of life at Mazenod, helping students grow in their relationship with God and with one another. 

In the Oblate tradition, gathering around the Eucharist reminds us that we are a faith community called to walk together, support one another and bring Christ’s presence to those we meet each day. Our Year Level Masses provide valuable opportunities for students to deepen their sense of belonging and to reflect on how they can live out the values of faith, service and community in their daily lives.

Father’s Day Mass and Afternoon Tea

It was wonderful to welcome so many fathers, grandfathers and father figures to our Father’s Day Mass and Afternoon Tea. The celebration provided a special opportunity for students and their families to gather in prayer, enjoy fellowship over light refreshments, and share some delicious cookies. 

As an Oblate community, we recognise the vital role that fathers and father figures play in nurturing faith, character and a spirit of service. We thank all who joined us and helped make the occasion such a warm and meaningful celebration of family, community and faith.

House Charism Day

House Charism Day transformed the College into a sea of colour as students proudly celebrated their House identities and traditions. Through a range of engaging and enjoyable activities, students explored the unique charisms of their House patrons in a welcoming and interactive way, deepening their understanding of the values and stories that shape our House system.

These days foster a strong sense of belonging, community and school spirit. It was wonderful to see students embracing the opportunity to connect with one another, celebrate their House pride and learn more about the examples of faith and service offered by their patrons.

Cathedral Outreach

Through our partnership with Shopfront, three staff members and five students recently took part in Cathedral Outreach, preparing meals before heading into the city to distribute food and offer companionship to those experiencing hardship, homelessness and isolation.

At the heart of the Oblate tradition is a commitment to serving those most in need. Cathedral Outreach provides our students with a powerful opportunity to put faith into action, encountering Christ in the poor and marginalised while growing in compassion, generosity and respect for the dignity of every person.

Good Works Kitchen

The Good Works Kitchen continues to thrive, with our Young Vinnies students preparing meals for Tom Fisher House, a Perth shelter supporting people experiencing homelessness. This important ministry provides practical assistance to those in need while giving students an opportunity to live out the Gospel through service.

A sincere thank you to Helen Botica and our dedicated Young Vinnies students for their ongoing commitment, as well as the many staff members who generously ensure the meals are delivered safely to those who need them most. This initiative reminds us that faith is expressed not only in words but through compassionate action and care for the most vulnerable in our community.

Rosies, Queensland

Expressions of interest are still open for the 2026 Rosies Immersion Experience in Queensland, taking place from 2 to 9 December 2026. Open to current Year 11 students, this unique opportunity allows participants to live out the Oblate charism through service, community living, reflection and outreach with Rosies Queensland, supporting people experiencing homelessness, loneliness and disadvantage through hospitality, conversation and friendship.

The immersion includes outreach experiences across several Queensland locations, along with faith formation and reflection activities. A limited number of places are still available, and families are asked to notify Dr Nathan Leber by Monday 12 October if their son would like to be considered for this rewarding and potentially life-changing experience.
