Gerard Wins 2026 House Triathlon
Gerard claimed a decisive victory in last week’s House Triathlon, finishing 60 points clear of Cebula.
Nicholas E, Flynn C and Harry D won the Year 7/8 race, while Oscar V, Lachlan F and Jackson G placed second in the Year 10–12 race. Both results were instrumental in Gerard’s overall win.
Cooper D, Fynn T and Lucas B put in a strong performance for Cebula in the senior race. Congratulations also to Ryan A, who completed the senior triathlon individually – an impressive effort across all three disciplines.

ACC A Division Athletics Carnival
Mazenod College competed in the ACC A Division Athletics Carnival on Wednesday, 16 September. Temperatures reached around 30°C but the team entered the carnival determined to build on last year’s second-place finish in the Overall Boys competition.
The boys showed determination, sportsmanship and support for one another throughout the demanding day. Many achieved personal bests and produced excellent results against some of the state’s strongest school athletics programs.
A highlight came in the discus, where N. Shibu set an ACC record with a throw of 49.50m. The previous record had stood since 2019 and was held by fellow Mazenod student R. Marchesi Scott.
On the track, T. Davey and S. Jordan won their 1500m and 800m events respectively. Both came close to breaking ACC records. S. Potts was named U15 Champion Boy for the A Division Carnival, recognising his consistent performances across the day.
Mazenod finished sixth in the Overall Boys competition. Our combined result with St Brigid’s College placed us fourth in the combined category and secured Mazenod’s A Division status for 2027.
Congratulations to every student who competed. The boys’ effort and encouragement of one another were a credit to the College. Thank you also to the staff who coached, officiated and supported the team in the lead-up to and throughout the carnival and to the families who supported our athletes.
