What have you enjoyed about Year 10 VCD so far?

We can be endlessly creative with it. I can really enjoy myself as I get to experiment with my unique art/design style.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently working on a set of five custom trading cards themed on COD.

What is your subject matter of the cards and why?

The subject matter is COD (Call of Duty) characters and their skill sets. The game interests me and I have played it before.

The subject matter is Tyler, the Creator album and their album tracks. I chose this as I love his music and his individuality.

Year 12 Art Creative Practice Highlights:

What have you enjoyed about Year 12 Art so far?

I have really enjoyed having freedom with my art and being able to explore my interests throughout this year.

What is the focus of your work?

My focus for my artwork is to combine fashion and surrealism because I love drawing/painting in the surrealist style due to its strange and disformed style, and mix this with my love for fashion.

Why did you choose to focus on this – what is its connection to you?

I have combined the surrealism and fashion as it is a key interest of mine and I absolutely love the style of animated movies, so I am mixing these together in my work.

Kaylee C.

What have you enjoyed about Year 12 Art so far?

I have really enjoyed working with different materials (ink, pencils etc..) and using a combination of traditional and digital art to experiment.

What is the focus of your work?

The focus of my work is what scares people – in this instance, what scares the teen girl.

Why did you choose to focus on this – what is its connection to you?

I was inspired by the horror artist Junji Ito, but wanted to dive deeper than just creating something scary.

Jessie S.

What have you enjoyed about Year 12 Art so far?

I have enjoyed being able to view and experiment with a range of mediums and materials and seeing what works best.

What is the focus of your work?

I am focusing on war and violence and visualising it in my artwork with symbolism.

Why did you choose to focus on this – what is its connection to you?

It was a theme that I thought would be easy to communicate but also impactful to the audience.

Cadell G.

What have you enjoyed about Year 12 Art so far?

I have really enjoyed the freedom we’ve been given to do what we like.

What is the focus of your work?

My focus is myself and my thoughts and feelings towards things.

Why did you choose to focus on this – what is its connection to you?

I’ve always enjoyed journalling my own works and memories etc in my art books, so my artwork takes off that, as I want to make a deep connection with any viewers by letting them see every part of me no matter how embarrassing.

Acacia D.

What have you enjoyed about Year 12 Art so far?

I have enjoyed the freedom to create what I want to and the ability to do so using the endless products that help me bring a vision to life.

What is the focus of your work?

The theme of my work is fairytales and folklore and its ability to bring magic to life.

Why did you choose to focus on this – what is its connection to you?

I chose to focus on the concept of fairytales, because growing up, the magic of these stories has inspired me in my decisions in life, and I have a deep connection because my Nan and I would create drawings inspired by stories we’d make up when I would go stay with her.

Tahana T.

What have you enjoyed about Year 12 Art so far?

I have enjoyed working with pieces that include the ocean.

What is the focus of your work?

My focus is to portray a beautiful landscape.

Why did you choose to focus on this – what is its connection to you?

I love colour, light and trying to add depth and dimension to my work.
