Student Voice and Agency
At LHC, we are committed to empowering students to have a say in their learning experience. The Student Voice Team has been working this term to strengthen student voice and agency across the school.
SPEL Feedback: Student Perspectives on Engagement & Learning
One of our key initiatives is the SPEL Feedback Survey; a short, three-question survey open to all students. We want to know:
What do you want to learn?
What activities do you enjoy the most?
How can we make classes more engaging and interesting?
Your feedback helps us shape teaching and learning at LHC. We encourage all students to participate by following this link: https://forms.office.com/r/TYAQ4C5j43.
What Has the Student Voice Team Been Working On?
So far this term, the Student Voice Team has:
✅ Discussed what Student Voice looks like in classrooms and around the school
✅ Brainstormed ways to increase student involvement, including greater student contributions to the school newsletter
✅ Reviewed 2024 Attitudes to Schools Survey data to identify areas for improvement
✅ Provided feedback on the school uniform
✅ Begun planning the Student Voice area in the Library
Student Voice Sausage Sizzle
To celebrate and promote Student Voice, we recently ran the Student Voice Sausage Sizzle outside the Library. Instead of paying with money, students "paid with their voice" by providing written feedback on topics such as improving learning spaces, making lessons more engaging and creating a more positive school environment.
This event also launched the Student Voice area in the Library, which includes:
📌 A whiteboard for student messages and ideas
📢 Information about Student Voice and Agency
💬 Opportunities for students to participate in staff meetings and school planning
📝 A space for students to submit feedback
Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far - your voice matters!
