It has been a busy term in Science. Year 7 students have learned what it means to be a scientist and have completed their first scientific report, investigating if adding salt or sugar to water makes it boil faster. Year 8 have investigated all things rocks – types, uses, the rock cycle, erosion. Year 9 have focused on space, including gravity and the life cycle of stars. Year 10 to 12 students in their elective Science classes have learned everything from the structure of the atom, the structure of the cell, how the brain and body work together, ethics, electricity – the list goes on. It has been a great start to the year and the introduction of Learning Pathways at Year 7 and 8 (also being trialled at Year 9) is enabling students to see how much they have learned and grown throughout the term.
