Thank you to all of the parents who attended parent teacher interviews in our science classrooms, it was great to discuss the wonderful work students have been doing in Science.

Prep- ‘On The Move’

This week in Science we have been learning about 3D shapes and testing how they move. We also have started testing different cylinders and spheres and how they roll. Our students worked so well in teams when experimenting.

Year 1- ‘Light & Sound’

Our Grade 1 students have been exploring their senses, tasting popcorn and apples. They are now zooming in on ‘Sound’, learning about vibrations, sound waves and the biology of the ear.  We tested cup telephones with wires/strings made of different materials and discussed sound inventions over history.

Year 2- ‘Push & Pull’

Grade 2s have been exploring ‘contact’ and ‘non-contact’ forces, experimenting with magnets, balloons and more. They had a big team challenge this week, trying to get ‘teddies across the ravine’ using minimal paper resources and contact forces ‘push and pull’. The inventiveness and ability to adapt and modify designs whilst working in a team with kindness was impressive.
