Year 12 Update

Celebrating the Final Weeks of School

As we approach the end of the school year, our Year 12 students are entering an exciting and significant stage of their secondary education. After six years of learning, developing friendships and overcoming challenges, our students are now preparing to conclude their time at Cranbourne Secondary College and take their next steps beyond school.

It has been a busy and productive term for our Year 12 cohort, with students completing their final assessments, preparing for examinations and participating in activities designed to support their transition into further education, training and employment.

Reflecting on the Final Term

Throughout Term 3, our Year 12 students worked hard to complete their remaining coursework and assessments. For our VCE VM students, Friday 18 September marked the conclusion of their scheduled school-based classes, an important milestone in their secondary education. Many of these students have continued attending their VET programs during Term 4 as they work towards completing their vocational qualifications.

Our VCE students have also been busy preparing for their final examinations. During the September school holidays, students participated in our scheduled practice examination program, held from 21–24 September. These examinations provided students with an opportunity to experience formal examination conditions, identify areas requiring further revision, and build confidence ahead of their final assessments.

At the beginning of Term 4, we introduced a three-day revision lecture program, which provided students with two-hour, subject-specific sessions led by their teachers. These sessions focused on consolidating key knowledge, developing examination techniques and addressing common areas of difficulty. It was pleasing to see students engaging with these opportunities as they prepared for their final examinations.

Preparing for the VCE Examinations

With the VCE written examinations approaching, our focus is now on ensuring students feel confident, organised and supported.

Our teachers will continue to be available for scheduled double-period revision sessions leading up to each subject's examination. We strongly encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity, whether by attending school to work directly with their teachers or submitting practice examination responses for feedback.

Families can play an important role during this period by encouraging students to maintain regular study routines, get adequate sleep, and take breaks to support their wellbeing.

We also remind students and families of several important examination expectations:

  • Students must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled examination, enter through the V Block gate, and check in at the Theatre.
  • Students attending school for private study must sign in through the General Office before proceeding to the Library.
  • Full school uniform is required whenever students are onsite, including examinations and study sessions, until 19 November.
  • Students should prepare their examination materials in advance, including approved calculators, dictionaries, clear water bottles and permitted stationery.

We wish all students completing their final examinations the very best and encourage them to make the most of the remaining support available.

Celebrating Our Year 12 Students

While examinations remain an important focus, we are also looking forward to celebrating the achievements of our graduating students.

Our end-of-year celebrations provide an opportunity to recognise the friendships, experiences and contributions students have made throughout their time at Cranbourne Secondary College.

One of the highlights will be our Year 12 celebration day at Gumbuya World, where students will have an opportunity to enjoy time together and celebrate the conclusion of their secondary schooling. We are looking forward to this being a memorable and enjoyable experience for the cohort.

Our final school activities, including shirt signings and opportunities for students to reflect on their time at the College, will also mark this important milestone.

These celebrations are a privilege, and we remind students of the importance of continuing to demonstrate the positive behaviour and respect expected of them throughout their final days at school.

Looking Ahead – Life Beyond School

As students prepare to leave Cranbourne Secondary College, we recognise that their next steps will look different for everyone.

Some students will pursue university or TAFE studies, while others will enter apprenticeships, traineeships or employment. Whatever their chosen direction, we hope students leave the College with the confidence, skills and aspirations to pursue their goals.

Our Careers and Pathways team continues to support students with their post-school planning, including applications, course preferences and employment opportunities. Students and families are encouraged to reach out if they require further assistance with their transition.

A Message of Thanks

Finally, we would like to acknowledge the efforts of our Year 12 students throughout 2026. Their final year has required commitment, persistence and a willingness to take responsibility for their learning.

We also thank our Year 12 teachers, support staff and families for the encouragement and guidance they have provided throughout the year. Completing Year 12 is a significant achievement, and the support students receive from those around them plays an important role in their success.

To our graduating Class of 2026, congratulations on reaching this milestone. We are proud of what you have achieved and look forward to seeing the different pathways you pursue beyond Cranbourne Secondary College.

We wish all our Year 12 students the very best for their upcoming examinations and the exciting opportunities ahead.
