Upcoming Book Launch: The Stories We Carry

Cranbourne Secondary College will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the launch of The Stories We Carry: Celebrating 50 Years of Learning, Community, Care and Contribution on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 6 pm.

The anthology brings together stories, poems, memories and reflections from students, staff and members of the wider school community, capturing the people and experiences that have shaped the college over the past five decades.

The project has also featured the college’s Writers in Residence program, with published author Coral Vass working alongside students to develop their writing and experience the process of publication. The project also received recognition from the Governor-General, who sent a letter acknowledging the college’s anniversary initiative.

The college extends its sincere thanks to Coral for her expertise and generosity, and to our sponsors, who have generously donated over $3,500 towards the printing of the anthology. We also thank everyone who has contributed their time, writing and memories to this special project.

The Stories We Carry will provide a lasting record of the college’s history and a fitting tribute to the students, staff and community members who have helped shape Cranbourne Secondary College over the past 50 years.

A very special thank you to one of the sponsors of our 50th Anniversary Anthology, The Stories We Carry: Celebrating 50 Years of Learning, Community, Care and Contribution.

Our Literacy Leaders and staff proudly accepted a $2,000 sponsorship from Carrum Downs and Marriott Waters Community Bank Branches, which will make a valuable contribution towards publishing this wonderful collection.

Visit the book stand at our 50th Anniversary Event on Thursday 22 October, show your interest, and secure a copy of this very special piece of our school’s history.
