Celebrating the Final Term of Year 8!

It is hard to believe that we have officially entered Term 4 and our students are beginning their final term of Year 8! This year has been filled with opportunities for growth, new experiences, friendships, and achievements, and it has been wonderful to see how far our students have come.

As we approach the end of the year, our focus is on ensuring students finish Year 8 positively, continue to demonstrate our school values, and feel confident and excited about the opportunities awaiting them in Year 9.

Celebrating Student Success – Term 3 Assembly

At the end of Term 3, we came together as a year level to celebrate the achievements, growth and contributions of our Year 8 students.

A particular highlight was recognising students who had been nominated by their teachers for their outstanding efforts throughout the term. These acknowledgements celebrated a wide range of achievements, including academic improvement, positive attitudes towards learning, kindness, resilience, classroom participation and supporting others.

It was especially pleasing to see so many students recognised not just for their academic achievements but for the progress they have made, the effort they consistently demonstrate and the positive impact they have on their classrooms.

Our assembly also provided an opportunity to reflect on the year so far and celebrate the sense of community that continues to develop across the cohort. Congratulations to all students who received recognition, and thank you to our staff for continuing to acknowledge and celebrate student success.

Looking Ahead to Year 9

With the end of Year 8 fast approaching, preparations are already underway for our students’ transition into Year 9 in 2027.

The process of creating Year 9 classes is now underway, with careful consideration being given to supporting students academically, socially and emotionally as they move into their next year of secondary schooling.

We understand that friendships and familiar faces are important to students, particularly during periods of transition. Our aim is to create balanced and supportive learning environments that provide students with opportunities to maintain positive connections, develop new friendships and continue growing as learners.

While there is naturally some excitement and anticipation surrounding Year 9 classes, we encourage students to approach this next chapter with an open mind and a positive attitude.

Finishing Year 8 Strong

Although preparations for Year 9 have begun, there is still an entire term of learning, growth and achievement ahead of us!

Term 4 is an important opportunity for students to consolidate the skills and habits they have developed throughout the year, demonstrate increasing independence and responsibility, and finish their Year 8 journey on a positive note.

We encourage families to continue supporting their children with regular attendance, organisation, completing learning tasks, and maintaining positive routines as we approach the end of the school year.

Thank you to all our Year 8 families for your ongoing support and partnership throughout 2026. We look forward to celebrating the final milestones of Year 8 together and preparing our students for an exciting transition into Year 9.
