Year 7 Update

Ms Muxworthy

Year 7 Leader of Learning

It has been another busy and productive start to Term 4 for our Year 7 students, and it's hard to believe there are now just nine weeks of Year 7 classes remaining. The year has certainly flown by, and our students have grown tremendously in confidence, independence and resilience since their first day at Cranbourne Secondary College.

This week, students will participate in AGAT and PAT testing. These assessments provide valuable information about students' learning progress and help us tailor teaching to best support their individual needs. We encourage all students to approach these assessments with a positive attitude and simply do their best.

Planning for next year's cohort is also well underway. The Inclusion Leader, Mahalia, and I have been meeting with our local feeder primary schools to gather valuable information about our incoming 2027 Year 7 students. These conversations are an important part of ensuring every student experiences a smooth and successful transition into secondary school.

As we enter the final weeks of the year, our focus remains on maintaining high expectations in the classroom. We encourage all Year 7 students to continue demonstrating our school values by being respectful, responsible and ready to learn each day. Finishing the year strongly will ensure they are well prepared for the exciting challenges of Year 8.

Thank you to our Year 7 families for your continued support throughout the year. Working together has helped our students thrive, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements as they complete their first year of secondary school.
