Recently, staff members Mr Bunawan and Ms Moore had the privilege of accompanying four of our incredible Student Representative Council (SRC) students to the VicSRC Congress at Kensington Town Hall. This event brought together student leaders from across Victoria to collaborate and tackle the big issues affecting young people and education today.
Our students did an exceptional job representing our school, diving into meaningful conversations about mental health and wellbeing, inclusive and accessible education, redefining success, equitable access to quality education, and the powerful impact of student voice. They shared their perspectives, listened to the experiences of others, and contributed thoughtful ideas about how schools can better support all students.
While the students were busy collaborating with their peers, the teachers attended a professional learning session focused on student voice and advocacy. They gained valuable insights into empowering student leaders, strengthening student participation in decision-making, and fostering authentic opportunities for young people to have their voices heard within school communities.
It was a fantastic day of learning, growth, and collaboration. We are incredibly proud of our SRC leaders and look forward to continuing to build a school culture where student voice is valued, respected, and acted upon.
