Rest, relaxation – and return!

What a magnificent Term One we have had at St George’s! After a restful and relaxing term break, it will be the start of Term Two before we know it.

Term Two reminders:

  • School commences on Tuesday 21 April.

  • Term Two will commence with an Extended PCG period and House Meeting in the morning, from 8.30-9.30am, and then alternate times are in place for the remainder of the day. Students have a copy of the timings for an “Alternative Timetable Day” on the back of the timetable card they were issued at the start of the year.
  • Students are to wear winter uniform, as per the attached Student Uniform and Grooming policy, including wearing a blazer to and from school each day.

In particular, please note the following:

  • All students are to wear the new shirt as the old shirts are no longer acceptable. There are two versions of the new shirt, depending on the fit required.
  • All students are to wear the standard tie with their winter uniform.
  • Students have the choice of wearing shorts or long pants, and stockings or socks with their winter uniform, except for formal school events where stockings or long pants are required. Whichever they choose must be worn according to the Uniform policy.
  • Tights/Stockings must be worn without holes. Students who attend school wearing damaged tights that do not meet our high standards of presentation will be required to purchase a new pair of tights (provided by Tara Uniforms) from Student Reception to wear immediately. The cost of these will be covered by the student’s family.
  • It is likely that many students have experienced a growth spurt since they ceased wearing winter uniform at the end of Term 3 last year. During the holidays we ask that the hem line of skirts are checked and lowered if necessary, or a new skirt is purchased to meet the required length of just above the knee.

Haircuts, cleaning out school bags (and lunch boxes!), mending damaged uniforms, shining school shoes all are activities best done prior to the first day of school. Please take the opportunity over the break to refresh ready for Term 2.

New raincoat now in stock

Our new St George’s raincoat is available for purchase from Tara Uniforms. It is the perfect weight and size to put over jumpers and blazers when it is a little rainy around the city. These are proving very popular with staff as well, so get in quick before the real wet weather hits!

Friends of St George’s Year 11 family social event

The Friends of St George’s is delighted to invite all our Year 11 students and their parents/guardians to a social event - with lawn bowls and food provided. This was a very popular event last year and is a great opportunity to get to know some of the Year 11 families who will journey together over the next 2 significant years of schooling.
