Gandhi House
Today we concluded the term on a high with Gandhi Charity Day – our Colour Run for the Heart Foundation of WA. As well as colour, the day was filled with generosity and a strong sense of community. I would like to thank our Year 12 Student Leadership Team who lead from the front, assisting with the set up and ensuring the day ran as smoothly as it did. These opportunities continue to highlight the compassion and service that sit at the heart of Gandhi House.
Term One for Gandhi has been a busy and rewarding, highlighted by a fantastic display of Gandhi House spirit across a range of events and activities. It has been wonderful to welcome our new Gandhites, particularly our Year 7 students, who have embraced House life and are already finding their place within the Gandhi community. Their enthusiasm and willingness to get involved have been a highlight, setting a positive tone for the year ahead. A standout moment this term was our success at the Interhouse Swimming Carnival.
This achievement was a true testament to the enthusiasm, participation, and encouragement shown by all students throughout the day. Whether competing in the pool or cheering from the sidelines, the level of involvement and support embodied what it means to be part of Gandhi House.
Gandhi students have been busily rehearsing for the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival, taking place in Week 2 of Term Two. With Cross Country also early next term, there will be plenty of opportunities for students to continue showcasing their House pride. I wish all Gandhi families a safe and restful holiday break.

Cowan House
What a term. Cowan has settled into the swing quickly - fantastic to see. The energy, participation and performances across our Charity Day, House events and school carnivals have been a great reflection of the culture we are building together.
We now look ahead to Term Two, with the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival taking place in Week 2. Our Dance and Drama teams have been hard at work choreographing, drafting and refining their performances.

Lincoln House
It has been an incredibly eventful and successful Term One for Lincoln House. From winning the inaugural Cowan Charity Day – Chant Off, taking second place for Sync Swim, great participation in House Week and currently in the lead of the Reader’s Royale (make sure to borrow books for the holidays!), it has been so pleasing to see the Lincoln House spirit on full display.
There will be an equally exciting start to Term Two, with the Interhouse Cross Country and Interhouse Preforming Arts Festival both occurring in Week Two. The competition for the House Cup is extremely close right now and every point counts. I encourage as many Lincoln students as possible to lace up their running shoes and ensure they are doing their part for the House in participating in the Cross County.
Our Interhouse Dance and Drama teams are currently hard at work with weekly practice sessions.
I hope everyone will have the opportunity to rest and recharge from our busy Term One. I wish everyone a safe and happy holidays and am excited to see Lincoln House continue to succeed in Term Two.

Mandela House
This term it was fantastic to see so many students involved in a wide range of House and PCG activities. From competitions and challenges to everyday moments within PCG, the energy, enthusiasm and sense of belonging within Mandela has been outstanding. I hope all students have enjoyed the opportunities to connect, contribute and represent our House with pride.
Looking ahead, Term Two begins at full pace. In Week Two, we have the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival, and this is always a key event for building House spirit. Our focus is simple – participation. Whether you are aiming to run your best time or walk the course with friends, every effort counts. If we all get involved, Mandela will be in a very strong position.
Our Performing Arts teams have been working incredibly hard in preparation for the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival, also taking place in Week Two next term. Both the Mandela Glee and Drama teams have shown real commitment, giving up time before and after school to rehearse, refine and improve their performances. The dedication and teamwork on display has been impressive, and we are very excited to see them represent Mandela on the big stage.
We are also approaching the halfway point of the Readers Royale competition, and Mandela has been performing strongly. It has been great to see students getting involved by borrowing and reading books from the Laurence Library. As we head into the holidays, this is a perfect opportunity to keep that momentum going. Every book read contributes to our House total, so I encourage all students to pick up a book over the break and continue supporting Mandela.
I wish all students and families a safe, relaxing and well-earned holiday. I look forward to announcing our Term One Mandela GOAT award recipients – a recognition of students who have gone above and beyond for our House. Let’s return ready to build on what has been a fantastic start to the year.
Mr Conrad Sloan
Head of Mandela
