With Father Gift’s departure, Mr Ryan McBride will take on the role of Coordinator of Beliefs & Values and Mrs Christie Lee Emerton will join the Beliefs & Values Department to teach Father Gift’s classes. Miss Tia Scott will be leaving us at the end of Term One to take up a music teaching position at Carine Senior High School.
Mrs Kelly Newbold is heading off on long service leave for the duration of Term Two.

Mrs Christie Lee Emerton was a member of our support staff when St George’s first opened its doors and then became our Enrolments Registrar prior to taking a career break to have her children. She returned to university to study education and joins us as a Beliefs & Values and HASS Teacher in a part time capacity from the beginning of next term. Mrs Emerton is a sports lover, a keen sewer and someone who takes every opportunity to be at the beach with her family during the summer months. She is excited to be returning to St George’s as a member of academic staff.

Ms Jodie Marriott will be joining us to cover Mrs Newbold’s classes. Ms Marriott is originally from the UK where she attended Sheffield Hallam University and gained a First Class Bachelor of Arts – English Literature prior to teaching at an Anglican school for the past five years. Recently migrating to Perth, she is excited to share her passion for reading with St George’s students and hopes to develop their confidence and a love for English during her time with them in Term Two. Ms Marriott is committed to lifelong learning, enjoys art, cooking and keeping fit.

Mr Ry Charleson will be joining our Music Department to teach across Music and HASS as well as take on the role of PCG Tutor for Cowan 1. Mr Charleson has been working with Instrumental Music School Services and John Septamius Roe as the director of St Paul’s chapel choir program. He is trained opera singer and has recently completed a season of La Traviata in the chorus with WA Opera as well as working as a musician more broadly for over 15 years. Mr Charleson brings a diverse range of experience in the music industry to the classroom and is looking forward to helping our students find a lifelong love of music, no matter what form that takes. He is also passionate about musical theatre and is excited to lend his experience and expertise to the 2026 school production – Mamma Mia!
