One of the biggest highlights in recent weeks in the Laurence Library has been the huge surge in participation in the Interhouse Readers’ Royale. The competition is incredibly close, with Lincoln currently leading on 4770 points, Gandhi close behind on 4730, and Mandela maintaining strong competition on 4684. Cowan House is encouraged to rally a few more readers, currently sitting on 2797 points. With only four weeks remaining after the holidays, there is still plenty of time for the leaderboard to shift.
This term we also celebrated Harmony Week and our ever-popular Easter Egg Hunt in the Library. Given the demand last year, the event was split across two days, with Years 7 and 8 taking part on Tuesday and Years 9 to 12 on Wednesday. Students searched for eggs hidden around the Library and decoded the messages inside them for some sweet prizes. A huge thank you to both Mrs Tamsin Sykiotis and Miss Sarah Ramm for their efforts with this event.

We are also pleased to share that one of our Library Prefects, John, has put together some reading recommendations, including Time Travelling with a Hamster by Ross Welford, as well as a classic read by Robert Louis Stevenson. Be sure to have a look. You can see the Prefect Corner as well as various selections of books on display for each of these events, all crafted by Miss Sarah Ramm who has added her wonderful creative flair to the Laurence Library!
Well done to all those who popped their head in to grab a book to enjoy over the break.
