Term 2 has been another busy and successful period for the Library and Research Centre, welcoming more than 13,000 visitors.

Our Year12 students have been intensifying their study efforts as they complete SACs and prepare for upcoming exams. Many have been making effective use of the Library whiteboard for revision and note-taking.

Research suggests that handwriting notes, even when based on digital resources, can improve information retention for some students.

The Library continues to be a vibrant hub where students study, socialise, participate in Clubs and borrow resources. Popular activities such as Anime Club and Dungeons and Dragons provide opportunities for students to connect with other students who share similar interests.

We are also excited to announce the introduction of a Craft Club in term 3 – watch this space for further details.

Throughout the term, a variety of displays have encouraged learning and discussion, including the impactful “Do it for Dolly” anti-bullying display.

The Library continues to expand its collection with a range of new titles, many requested by students. To celebrate the growing interest in football, we have also added the Football Super Heroes series to coincide with the FIFA World Cup.

We would also like to acknowledge the generous support of Sonja Terpstra MP, whose ongoing book donations continue to promote literacy and a love of reading within our community,

Overall, it has been a fantastic term filled with learning, creativity, student and staff engagement and a shared passion for reading. We look forward to another exciting term ahead.
