Year 9:
As we approach the end of Semester 1, Year 9 students have been involved in a range of exciting learning and extracurricular opportunities. The Year 9 Grampians Camp provided students with valuable experiences in teamwork, resilience and outdoor education, while Athletics Day showcased strong participation, school spirit and personal achievement. Many students also represented the school through interschool sports, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and commitment.
Students recently completed their Morrisby interviews, helping them to explore their strengths, interests and potential future career pathways. Looking ahead to Semester 2, students will begin new elective subjects, providing opportunities to develop new skills and pursue areas of interest. Year 9 students will also participate in TAFE Taster programs, giving them valuable insight into vocational education and helping them make informed decisions about future pathways and career options.
Year 10:
Year 10 students have enjoyed a productive and engaging semester, beginning with a highly successful camp early in Term 2 that provided opportunities to build teamwork, resilience and positive relationships. Students have also participated enthusiastically in interschool sports and Athletics Day, demonstrating strong school spirit and sportsmanship.
As students prepare for Semester 2, they have been carefully considering their subject selections and future pathways. Experiences such as the Trade & Tech Expo and Course Election Night have provided valuable insights into both vocational and academic options beyond Year 10. Students have also been preparing for their upcoming Year 10 exams and work experience placements, important milestones in their transition to senior secondary education.
Looking ahead, students will begin new electives and continue exploring their interests and strengths. As they prepare for Year 11 VCE or VM, this is an important time for students to reflect on and strengthen their learning behaviours, including organisation, attendance, engagement and independent study habits, to support future success.
