A BHHS student's sustainability campaign
By Tarragon, Year 9 student
Hi, I’m Tarragon and I’m 14 years old. I have had a campaign/website about stopping single-use cup waste since I was 10. The reason I started CopyCupwas because in school at the time we were learning about waste and the people trying to make a difference.
The name CopyCup was chosen because research shows that people change their habits when they see others doing the same. This is where you come in. You can be the change that starts other people copying you when you use your reusable cup and refuse to contribute to single-use cup waste.
My website aims to encourage people to sustain change by inviting them to sign a pledge (as an individual or as a business/ organisation). This pledge signifies their promise to make better choices by using reusable cups.
I have further expanded the website by creating Instagram and Facebook pages (which you can find on the website), as well as by sharing my campaign with the community around me, including the BHHS Sustainability Club, my dance school and my local church.
