Hands on Learning

Digging, Discovering & Growing

Hands on Learning continues to be a highlight for our students. From an archaeological dig in the garden uncovering glass, to personal projects, Golden Shovel winners, and some awesome conversations showcasing student growth — it was a day full of learning and achievement. A big thank you to Peter for providing a few Milwaukee items for the students to use!

A Piece of Wangaratta High School History

Our Hands on Learning students have given new life to a special piece of Wangaratta High School history. They restored and repaired the original Wangaratta High School sign, first used in the early 2000s.

This project not only preserved a part of our school’s story but also showcased the students’ practical skills, teamwork, and pride in their school community.

Donations!

Hands on Learning have converted an old chook pen into a green house and we are looking for donated items including pots, small plants, plants stands, and small pieces of galvanised pipe (e.g. old taps, elbows etc.).

Any items would be greatly appreciated.

For drop off options, please contact Damian on (03) 5723 0500 or via damian.loiterton@education.vic.gov.au

Thanking you in advance,

Damian Loiterton

Bottle & Can Recycling Fundraiser

Did you know that 53% of plastic bottles end up in landfill?

12% of plastic bottles end up in our environment where they contribute to the 130,000 tonnes of plastic leaked into Australia's marine environment each year.

Wangaratta High School have started recycling plastic bottles and drinking cans, with proceeds from the initiative being put back into our school and supporting worthy school projects.
