Assistant Principal Report
Mr. Neil McMorran

As we approach the end of Term 3, we would like to take the opportunity to reflect on some of the important wellbeing initiatives our students have participated in and look ahead to some exciting opportunities planned for Term 4.
Bullying No Way
Our school continues to focus on creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for every student. As part of Bullying No Way: National Week of Action, students have been encouraged to recognise bullying, understand the impact of harmful behaviour and consider the important role they can play as active bystanders.
Students are reminded that they should speak up and seek support if they experience or witness bullying. Support is available through classroom teachers, wellbeing staff, year-level staff, leadership and trusted adults at school, include the issue tracker on Compass. Students can also access support through their families and external services such as Kids Helpline, eSafety Commissioner and Headspace.
We encourage families to continue conversations at home about respectful relationships, online behaviour, inclusion and what students can do if they are concerned about themselves or a friend.
R U OK? Day
We were pleased to see our school community come together for R U OK? Day. The day provided an opportunity for students and staff to connect, check in with one another and reinforce the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing.
The success of the day was reflected in the positive participation of students and staff across the school. Most importantly, R U OK? Day reminds us that supporting wellbeing is not limited to one day of the year. A simple “Are you okay?”, taking the time to listen and knowing when to seek additional support can make an important difference.
Wear It Purple Day
Our school also proudly recognised Wear It Purple Day, celebrating diversity, inclusion and the importance of creating safe and supportive environments for young people.
The day provided an opportunity for students and staff to show their support for inclusion and reinforce the message that everyone has the right to feel safe, respected and accepted for who they are. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped create a positive and welcoming school environment.
Term 4 – Foundation House and Shooters Shoot Volleyball Program
We are excited to announce opportunities continuing into Term 4 through Foundation House and our Shooters Shoot Identity and Journalling Program.
The Shooters Shoot program will continue with a volleyball focus, combining physical activity with opportunities for students to develop confidence, connection, identity and positive wellbeing strategies.
The program will run every Friday from 2:00–4:00 pm, commencing Friday 16 October. Students will have the opportunity to participate in volleyball activities while developing positive relationships, reflecting on their experiences and building skills that support their wellbeing.
We look forward to continuing to provide students with opportunities to connect, participate and develop their confidence throughout Term 4.
