Wellbeing News

As we come to the end of another term, it’s a great time to reflect on the challenges we’ve faced, the lessons we’ve learned, and the many good moments we’ve shared along the way. Wellbeing is all about learning, growing, connecting, and looking after ourselves — and there has been plenty happening across our wellbeing centre this term!
Our Wellbeing Team has continued to grow this year, with everyone settling in beautifully and loving the opportunity to work alongside our students. We have also welcomed two Work Placement Students, Corinne and Taesue, who have recently joined the team and will be with us for the remainder of the year. Their support means we can be even more proactive, connect with more students and provide additional 1:1 support when needed.
One of the highlights of the term was our R U OK? Day Health & Wellbeing Expo. With 10 stalls featuring health and wellbeing professionals from our local community, students had the opportunity to connect, learn, ask questions, and explore the different supports available to them. There were games, activities, prizes, food and plenty of good vibes! It was fantastic to see our staff getting into the spirit of the day in yellow and, most importantly, seeing students enjoying the atmosphere and getting involved.
As we head towards the end of term, we encourage everyone to take some time to rest, recharge and reset. After a long winter and a busy term, it’s important to give yourself permission to slow down. Sleep in, get outside, enjoy some fresh air and sunshine, have some fun, catch up with friends or family, do something you enjoy and, of course, treat yourself!
For our Year 11 and 12 students, the Wellbeing Team will also be hosting two “Stop, Hot Choc & Chat” afternoons after school. These sessions will provide a relaxed opportunity to decompress, have a chat if needed, connect with others, and simply take a moment to pause before the final stretch of the year.
Remember: looking after your wellbeing isn’t something you only do when things are tough. It’s something we can all practise every day.
Rest up. Recharge. Reconnect. And let’s finish the year strong!
