Student Leadership

Camden High School’s Student Leadership Council has had a productive and inspiring start to Term 2, demonstrating strong community spirit and student leadership both within the school and across the wider Camden community.

Over the first four weeks of the term, members of the Student Leadership Council proudly represented Camden High School at the local ANZAC Day Dawn Service and commemorative march. Our School Captains also led the school’s annual ANZAC assemblies in Week 2, welcoming members of the public and special guests, including our local MP, Sally Quinnell. These events reflected the respect and appreciation our students continue to show for those who have served our country and reinforced the important role remembrance plays within our school culture.

The Student Leadership Council has also been working closely with ARCO and Mrs White to support this term’s Reject Racism initiative, “Flavour of the World.” This initiative encourages students to build connections and celebrate diversity through conversations about food, culture, and personal experiences. Students are encouraged to share a favourite recipe, meal, or cultural tradition with someone new as a way of strengthening inclusivity and understanding across our school community.

Looking ahead, the Student Leadership Council has several exciting events and initiatives planned for the remainder of the term.

In Week 7, School Captains James and Jye will lead Camden High School’s FightMND fundraising campaign as part of the Big Freeze initiative. The week will focus on raising both awareness and funds to support those impacted by Motor Neurone Disease. Fundraising activities will include a trivia night, silent auction, Big Freeze-style slide, and food sale, with the school aiming to raise $15,000 for this important cause. FightMND merchandise, including beanies and socks, is currently available for purchase through the front office and will also be sold during the Camden vs Cowra football evening.
