Exploring, Observing, Growing
The first two weeks of orientation have been a time of curiosity, exploration, and discovery. Many children are experiencing big emotions as they adjust to their first experiences in kindergarten or care. Through songs, rhymes, games, and activities focused on recognising and labelling emotions, children are learning to express themselves, develop early social skills, and begin to understand the feelings of others.
We have been observing each child’s interests, interactions, and learning styles to plan experiences that support creativity, problem-solving, and independence. Building strong relationships with children and forming meaningful partnerships with families has been central to this process, ensuring learning experiences are responsive, engaging, and tailored to each child’s needs. These early weeks are laying the foundation for confidence, resilience, and a love of learning, in line with the VEYLDF.
