Year 4 News

From Lina McAliden Year 4 teacher

Beaches, buses, boogie boards — oh my!

Last Thursday and Friday, our Grade 4 students, staff and parent helpers travelled to Anglesea for an exciting camp filled with fun, challenge and adventure.

Across the two days, students participated in a range of activities that encouraged teamwork, resilience and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones. From surfing to bike riding, canoeing and archery, it was wonderful to see students supporting one another and embracing new opportunities. A fantastic time was had by all!

“Splash went our paddles in the cold water as we canoed down the long, wet river. Our canoes were speeding along as the wind blew us sideways! A highlight was the beautiful river, where we passed trees and animals, and how fun it was being with our friends. When we reached the end, we were so happy and ready to bike ride! We started with a practice ride where we chose our bikes. There were lots of bumpy and narrow roads, but we finished safely. Overall, camp was fun with all of the activities, food, and friends!” -

“Surfing was really fun! We were on top of the waves, riding our surfboards really fast. I managed to stand up on my surfboard, which was thrilling! It was fun because it was my first time surfing. Canoeing was also really fun. I also stood up in my boat, almost falling in the water! My partner was Nate, and he was helping me because he had canoed before and helped when we crashed into the sides of the bank. In the end, we did a class race and came third!” -
