OUR YEAR FOUR
LEARNING JOURNEY
SNAPSHOTS
From new discoveries to memorable experiences, these snapshots showcase the learning, achievements and special moments that have made our Year 4 journey so rewarding in Term 2.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
We learnt about why and how we celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the steps involved in receiving our First Holy Communion. We reflected on the importance of forgiveness, saying sorry and making good choices in our lives. Our families, teachers and Father Justel helped guide us on ways to grow closer to God.

Sovereign Hill Camp
We had the most incredible experience at Sovereign Hill camp. We stepped back in time and discovered what life was like during the Gold Rush era. We explored the township, visited historic buildings, watched traditional demonstrations, and even tried our luck at gold panning. The camp was filled with exciting learning opportunities, fun activities, and special memories shared with our classmates. It was an unforgettable experience that helped bring our History learning about the First Fleet and early colonial Australia to life.

Celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist
It was such a wonderful experience to celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist with our teachers, family and friends. Throughout the term, we prepared for this special milestone by learning about the importance of the Eucharist and what it means to receive Jesus in Holy Communion. We were excited and a little nervous as we participated in this important part of our faith journey. Many of us were eager to receive the Holy Host for the very first time. It was a memorable and meaningful celebration that we will cherish for years to come.

Knowledge Rich Literacy
We have been reading the fictional text The Wild Robot while also exploring non-fiction texts about the value of robots. We wrote a persuasive letter to our parents explaining why our family needs a robot. Our letters included an introduction, two body paragraphs using the PEPS structure (Point, Explanation, Proof and Summary), and a conclusion. In our persuasive letters, we explained how a robot would be a helpful addition to our home by keeping the house clean and secure. We also described how a robot could support our family by providing helpful reminders, such as when it is time to leave for basketball training and other important appointments, helping us to stay organised and give us more time to enjoy other things.
