Stick Symmetry
In math, we explored symmetry! It was a fun but tricky concept. We discovered that if you cut a shape exactly in the middle, both sides are perfectly identical unless it is an odd shape. We all used colourful rainbow sticks to form pictures and mirror each other.
Think of it like a human face, a butterfly's wings, or even a perfect slice of pizza—if you draw an invisible line right down the center, one side perfectly mirrors the other!
What exactly is symmetry? Simply put, it is when you can divide some shapes, patterns, or objects exactly in half and both sides look like exact mirror images of each other. The imaginary line that splits the shape into perfectly identical halves is called the line of symmetry.
What we did in class was we had these sticks and we formed shapes and our teacher asked us questions about what we learnt and we answered.
The correct term for this maths unit is reflection.
